Touching America : The Experience People Place and Things

Updated: Nov 24, 2022

It's true we live a digital world now. Today much of living in America is just a virtual realty shopping experience, wherein our relationships are often social media video teleconferences or podcasts. But with climate change rapidly transforming the natural environment from Grand Canyon to Niagara Falls in New York to Crater Lake in Oregon to Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky; our days are numbered to experience the old time nostalgia.

Once upon a time, traveling America on Route 66 gave us a unique way connect and touch with the people, place and things that once defined America the Beautiful. So as geopolitics and climate change transform the United States, it might be your last chance soon to pack the family and take one last wonderful journey across Her Majesty America.

The reality is the average American teenage child spends an average of 7 hours and 22 minutes on their smartphones a day, and tweens -- ages 8 to 12 -- are not far behind, at four hours and 44 minutes daily, according to a new report by Common Sense Media, a nonprofit that promotes safe technology and media for children (ABC News Report 2019).

It's a sobering thought, but we maybe among the last generation to have a chance to witness America as it was originally built. A forever fading, long past fairy tale, to many just a fable now gone forever. Today, the United States is gradually losing its forests, grasslands, deserts, and natural places at a blistering pace. In fact every 30 seconds, a football field worth of America's natural areas disappears to roads, houses, pipelines, and other development.

Climate change is sweeping the West Coast of America. It's also affecting the East Coast with unusual heat temperatures and flooding in Houston, Miami, Tampa, Boston, New York, Charleston, and New Orleans. Severe clean water shortages are increasing and permanent temperature shifts of 3 - 5 degrees higher than normal across North America. And this climate change is already impacting the economy in sectors such as agriculture and energy. We estimate based on scientific data, a 35% reduction in the U.S. GDP due to climate change by 2040. And the entire landscape of America is already undergoing rapid change.

So pack your bags for the adventure of a lifetime travel across America. Perhaps, the last opportunity to touch genuine American people, places and things, not in some virtual realty game or mobile video conference, but rather physically being there to experience the unique smells, sights, sounds and cultures which can never be duplicated in any digital world. helps innovative entrepreneurs from every background and income level with mentoring and professional business development solutions.
